FreeBSD 3.5 or 4.0 (or 4.1)???

Post by mattgriff.. » Tue, 19 Sep 2000 04:00:00

I am planning to setup a web server with
FreeBSD.  I was wondering which is the better
route to go FreeBSD 3.5 or 4.0 (or 4.1).  I see
that 3.5 came out after 4.0, which confuses me a
little.

Thanks,
Matt

If you're installing from scratch, you should go for 4.1. 3.5.1 was
released as bug fixes for those that didn't want to make the big jump to
4.x.

For a new installation, go 4.1.  3.5 is (more-or-less) for people who
are already running 3.x and don't want a major upgrade.
