<delurk>
Hello, just a short request. The location (if any) of the FAQ for
comp.unix.bsd.freebsd.misc? I'm trying to follow Usenet /best/ /practises/
by reading the FAQ and lurking for a while before posting anything.

AFAIK there is no FAQ dedicated to this newsgroup only, but you are encouraged
to have a look at the following resources:

FreeBSD FAQ:      http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/faq/
FreeBSD Handbook: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/
FreeBSD books:    http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books
FreeBSD articles: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/articles

Often, your question as already been answered in this group or in one of the
fbsd mailing lists:

http://groups.google.com
http://www.freebsd.org/search/search.html

Suspected as much trusty Google did not turn anything up, but better safe
than sorry.

-smile- All good links and ones I visit all too often recently.

-nod- Mainly I would like a little more personalised feedback in my search
to create a fbsd environment that works the way I want it too than is
offered by reading manuals and trial and error. I'm new to fbsd (a few
weeks) but have managed to install the machine well enough to read and post
here, well enough to read the links metioned above and well enough to have
rm -rf the partition containing my Win2K installation (sign of commitment
eh? -grin-).

Thanks for the reply and perhaps I'll be poking up here and there in the
group. I hope to learn a lot from you guys, I hope you don't mind the brain
leech. I do promise that I'll share everything I learn in return though
-grin-

Wow! Okay... added to the favourites list and reading has started... might
take me longer to get through the whole thing than Unix (or *nix based)
computing will continue to exist for though -grin- but I'll have a look
around.

Btw, I think your .sig dash is bust... should be dash dash space
