I'm wondering if anyone has used the Plextor PlexWriter 8/20 drive
with FreeBSD.

I have, using mkhybrid/cdrecord from ports. I have an external PlexWriter
8/20 connected to a FirePort Dual (aka symbios 53c875). No problems so
far.

I'm using one on a FreeBSD 3.4 system. It's connected to an Adaptec
2940UW and it works just fine.
