rc.conf man page missing?

Post by Todd D Sues » Sat, 21 Jun 1997 04:00:00

In reading through the rc.conf file, it makes reference to a man page for
rc.conf, but the page itself is nowhere to be found..  Is there one, and if so
where can it be found?

Will it be in 2.2.5?

No, but we might. :-)

I tend to pick the release numbers based on the delta between a given
release and its ancestors.  2.2.5 will probably be the next release
since we don't plan any more 2.2.x releases for awhile, and come next
September/October (planned release date) it'll probably be a reasonably
significant delta.

And will 2.2.5 have a man page for rc.conf?

(looking innocent>

All I'm trying to do is get the thread back on topic!

1. Standard man pages to "Catted" man pages!

To Anyone Interested:

How does one take a standard "troff"ed (?) man page that comes
with a package off the net (ending in .1, .2, etc) and turn in into a
compressed, "cat"ted man page (ending in .1.Z, .2.Z, etc) that are
stored in the directory /usr/man/catN (N = 1,2,3,...) that can be read
by the standard man utility that comes with the SLS distribution?  I'm
sure that this is trivial to do, and is probably written down
SOMEWHERE, but I've got only so many hours a day I can spend reading
FAQs and HOWTOs.  Thanx in advance...
