I use inn 2.3.3 server with cnfs spool on a dedicated disk.
Question : is this a good thing (or not) to use soft-updates with a cnfs
spool ?

Please remember me, what is cnfs? Is it the straight each article in a file
or the cycbuf thing, all articles in one single file? In fact with cycbuf you
can put the spool on a raw partition and completely bypass the file system.
Since the writes are sequential you have all benefits of a journalling
filesystem, namely maximal write throughput. If you put the cycbuf in a plain
file, softupdates will not have a lot of work anyway, since the only changes
to metadata are time stamps. If you are now speaking of plain article spool,
it is a typical case of putting softupdates to good use :)

any Ideas ??
