FreeBSD and StarOffice 6.0

Hi,

I've got the retail-version of StarOffice 6.0 (1 CD) and I've got a
small
problem with the installation.
It seems I cannot do a "workstation" installation (the equivalent of
make install-user). I can do a /net install, but each time I try a
user-install
(using /usr/compat/linux/usr/local/staroffice6/program/setup), I am
presented with a screen to repair/delete my current
staroffice-install.
It seems, the installer either does not "get" that I want to do a
workstation-install, or worse, has not actually done a net-install (I
tried with -net and /net).

I've installed linux_base-7. And I get no indication of error from the
installer itself.

any ideas ?

cheers,
Rainer

After I do a /net install with SO I run:
        [location of SO]/soffice
which allows me to do a workstation installation.

As I recall when I've attempted to run /setup rather than /soffice I get
the same dialog you indicated.

Good luck!

Ho-ho-ho
(sorry)
I just upgraded to 4.6.RC and now it doesn't even work anymore :-(
I can run the setup as root, but not as normal user anymore :-(
Running soffice as normal user will hang it, running it as root
will hang it at a splash screen (i.e. 5 secs later).
Grr.

How do you make a problem-report from this ? ;-)
Can anybody confirm this ?

cheers,
Rainer

And to follow up my own post, it now seems to work.
The joys of a reboot and the positive effect of sleeping over it a night.
