Hello,
I managed to lock up my root account using chpass to change my root
password.
I booted using boot.flp and fixit.flp and replaced
/etc/spwd.db and
/etc/pwd.db
and this helped me login again.
But when later tried to use
passwd ( instead of chpass )
but it would not work.
I get looooooooooong list of the same message saying there is no EOF
and I have to press CTRL-Z in order to cancel.
Could somebody tell me what I am doing wrong?
Should I replace
master.passwd and
passwd
too?
Where could I find a good copy?
Any help will be appreciated very much!
Thanks,
Eugene
P.S. I had the same problem with version 2.1 of FreeBSD so I am assuming
that I did something wrong in both cases.
(I am using FreeBSD v2.2.5 at the moment.)
