Yeah, I'm using it in my internship at NASA/Lewis in Cleveland. Somebody
chimed in when I first got here this summer about possibly seeing how much
work it would take to use and support Linux in the Lewis distributed
computing environment. Took 'em five weeks to get me a PC that worked
and two weeks for me to get things installed, running, and a report written
on the whole thing. A testimony to the great work put in by Linus,
Pat Volkerding, and the other Linux developers, IMHO.
Anyway, amd works pretty well well if you get the version on sunsite.
It makes life really nice if you're in an environment with lots of
central servers. It should compile more or less out of the box.
