glib/gtk upgrading/installation

Post by Terrato » Sun, 25 Jul 1999 04:00:00

Hi I am new to linux
But how do I upgrade glib/gtk/or any other rpm from redhat?
I've tried to grab the newer versions and did rpm -U <the new rpm> (or
whatever the command to upgrade was)
but then that doesn't work as I had to reinstall rh :)
I've tried to get the new tar.gz and install that, but if I do
glic-config --version it still says 1.2.1
I've tried to uninstall the old rpm but it won't uninstall as its linked by
a lot of other stuff
I am using redhat 6.0 and trying to upgrade to the newest version of gtk so
I can install licq.

Any help would be appreciated
Thanx

Go to www.tuxfinder.com, push the i386.rpm button and search for gtk+ ,
you will find gtk+-1.2.3-2.i386.rpm there among others
