Need to Un-gzip *.tgz to install?

A simple question from a (hopefully) soon to be happy linux user:
Do I have to uncompress (or ungzip) the .tgz files from the SLS
distribution or can I just load them up onto their respective
DOS formatted floppies and let the installation process do the
uncompression with the stuff that's on the a1 disk?

Bruce,
Just let the install take care of that for you.
If at some LATER point you need to unzip a .tgz use the following command:

                zcat filename.tgz | tar xvf -

                                                Hope this helps

No, just put them on dos floppies as is.  SLS may not be the best distribution
to use, but that's fodder for another discussion going on elsewhere.
