Is there a way to setup Linux with an ESDI controller and LARGE drive?
I have a Data Technology DTC6282-24 controller and (if I remember correctly)
a Maxtor 1.2G drive. It works if I set up the disk as a 500
meg, but would rather not lose 1/2 the capacity.

Setting are:
Cyl - 1778, heads - 19, Sectors - 77

I did try to set these up at boot hd=1778,19,77 but Linux reported it was
giving up.

Thanks in advance

Brian

1. linux for ps/2 model 70 115mb esdi (help!)

Hi!
I'm a newbie to linux (not to unix), and would like to install
it on my ibm ps/2 model 70, 115mb ESDI drive. I naively asked a
friend for his linux disks, plunked the BARE disk into my drive
and booted, at the boot: prompt i just hit enter (no options),
the installation started but my machine hung, the last thing displayed
was "keyboard error", but i'm not sure it didn't hang in something
directly following the keyboard error. anyway as i understand it
BARE is for IDE drives, where can i get the proper installation disks
for my ps/2? are there any linux on ps/2 users who could tell me
how to get started?

thanks
ben
