XFree86 HELP: Packard Bell/Headland HT216 Drivers????

Post by ALAN L HIGHTOW » Tue, 25 Jan 1994 14:59:33

HELP!!  I am running LinuX v.099p14 Slackware 1.1.1.   I am currently using the VGA16 X11 server...
I have a Packard Bell Legend 486DX2/66 with a Headland localbut HT216 video controller..  Is there a compatible VGA driver for XFree for Headland controllers???

The system manual does not give any specific information concerning chipset type, but I have tried most major chipsets and drivers that come with the standard Slackware 1.1.1 distribution...

Since Packard Bell is widely used in the general residential market, I am hoping someone else has had this problem before and solved it...

Please respond by post or email...

Alan, thanks in advance....

1. again -> Headlands Tech chipset on Packard Bell '486 and XFree86?

I didn't get a reply to my first post, so maybe I'll try this once
more:

Does anyone know if the ht216 video chipset used by Packard Bell in
their Force 2387 DX2/66 is compatable with XFree86? It is not
mentioned in the supported hardware list, but I suspect that this
chipset may emulate a better known chipset which is supported.

Peter.
