Anybody know what the error < /lib/ld.so.cache '/etc/ld.so.cache' is corrupt > might mean.
I was in the process of installing X from cd when I started receiving streams of 'Disk out of space'
error messages. When these stopped I performed 'shutdown -r now' and tried to come back up.
I then started receiving the message < /lib/ld.so.cache '/etc/ld.so.cache' is corrupt > each time
a filesystem was mounted. I also receive this message whenever any disk I/O is performed. I
looked for the file ld.so.cache in each of the referenced directories, but couldn't find it. I'm afraid
it got trashed, but not certain. I can't do much with my current installation and am concerned about
re-installing. What does the file 'ld/so.cache' do and can it be regenerated somehow or am I hosed.
What causes this to happen? I would like to avoid this happening again. I hope someone can help!
Thanks for any help!
