I'm having a nightmare working out my Xconfig file for my new Slackware 2.0
Linux box. I bought the computer from a high street dealer as an all in one
preconfigured-for-DOS-yawn type machine. It's a Packard Bell that (says)
it has a VLB. Superprobe says that it is a CL GD5422, but if its a VLB, it
should be a 5424 (shouldn't it???). The spec. manuals that come with the
machine don't even list things like dot clock freq or Horizontal or Vertical
Sync frequencies. This leaves me a bit in the dark as you can undersand...
Anyway, I've managed to get 640x480 to go, but I really need
a much higher resolution. Has anyone got a copy of Xconfig files for the
CL-GD5422 and CL-GD5424 chips? I would really appreciate some examples to
try out without blowing my monitor into little pieces.
The monitor is nothing special. I guess it only has fixed frequency dot clocks,
but then again, I could be wrong.
Thanks!
