Get yourself netscape 1.0N from sunsite.unc.edu:/pub/Linux/system/Network/info-systems.

Then

  1. termify netscape.
  2. Fire up termnetscape
              under Options | Preferences | Mail/Proxys
leave _all_ of the proxy boxes blank
set the SOCKS box to 'remotehost' & 80
  3. ignore the error you get when you exit the Options menu.
  4. If termnetscape fails to work right:
              under Options | Preferences | Mail/Proxys
leave _all_ of the proxy boxes blank
set the SOCKS box to 'none' & 80
  5. ignore the error you get when you exit the Options menu.

That should do,

Netscape for term?

Post by Ross L » Tue, 07 Mar 1995 03:27:19

Hi,
I just have term(2.3.5) installed.  I can trsh now.  However
when I type a command under trsh (e.g., ls), it always sends the
command twice to remote machine.  Did I set up something incorrectly?
Please help.  Thanks.

1. Cannot run local Netscape under term -- help!

I think that this Netscpae is termified (how can I tell?)
But when I run it on my linux laptop, I cannot connect to
the remote socket.  Is this all I need to do:
set local socket to 1080 in local netscape proxy options
tredir 80 1080:linux.box  on remote machine
If I do this, I get no data available msg.
How do you do this?  Thanks!
