Help: more info on my startx problem with the Slackware version

>Microsoft       "/dev/ttys0"
>  BaudRate      1200
>#  SampleRate   150
>#  Emulate3Buttons

the mouse definition is slightly wrong, It should be

Microsoft       "/dev/ttyS0"

If you have a 3 button mouse, It's more than likely mouse systems compatible,
If so enable it, 3 buttons are a lot more preferable than than 2 under X

1. can't startx after slackware install -- help?

Having trashed my linux partition (with the help of a defective mother-
board), I decided to reinstall linux from the slackware distribution.
Things went well, till I installed X-Windows (XF86SVGA).  I configured
the monitor/card combo, then attempted to startx.  This is the message
I got...

TRANS(SocketUNIXConnect) () can't connect: errno = 2
TRANS(SocketUNIXConnect) () can't connect: errno = 2
TRANS(SocketUNIXConnect) () can't connect: errno = 2
TRANS(SocketUNIXConnect) () can't connect: errno = 2
TRANS(SocketUNIXConnect) () can't connect: errno = 2
TRANS(SocketUNIXConnect) () can't connect: errno = 2
giving up.
xinit:  No such file or directory (errno 2): unable to connect to X server
xinit:  No such process (errno 3):  Server error.

So, anybody got any idea just what the heck I'm doing wrong?  I tried
substituting my old XF86Config file for the one created by the config
script, but that didn't help...
Hope someone can help...
