Help: PF keys on x-term VT100 emulation.

Post by gopa.. » Fri, 23 Sep 1994 20:14:21

Hello netters,

I want to use VT100 or VT220 emulations on Linux openwin 3.2.
I have used x-term VT100 emulation but it does not have PF[1-4]
keys support (or am I missing something?).  I have to use PF keys
since our is VMS shop.

Any pointer or help is appreciated.

Thanks.

This is what I do, it works for me, 'hope it works for you too
Put the following lines in ~/.Xmodmap

! Bloc Num, /, *, - become F1..F4 (VT100 Keypad)
keycode  77=KP_F1
keycode  112=KP_F2
keycode  63=KP_F3
keycode  82=KP_F4
! Keypad + becomes Subtract (convenient for vt100 Keypad)
keycode  86=KP_Subtract
! Bloc Scorr=Num_Lock
keycode  78=Num_Lock

 then include
xmodmap .Xmodmap
in your ~/.xinitrc file.
Or you can use xev to find out what are the keycodes in your keyboard
and then equate them to F1..F4 as above

Best regards,
