Rar doesn't work.

Rar doesn't work.

Now that I'm into newsgroups, I NEED to decompress rars, right (agree
with me)?  Well, there is a small problem: I can't.  I downloaded the
both the rar and unrar utilities, but alas they help me not.
Here's what I've tried over the time:

-Each of those printed ridiculous information about how to
run unrar (the arguements, etc).  As a matter of fact,
unrar, to me, is a damn readme, because when I do . . .

. . . it prints the help page.
After trying so much, I decided to try unrars counterpart--
rar, which is for compression.  The syntax to make a rar
        package is, simply `rar -a archivename /path/to/files`.  I
        Tried that . . .

Guess what the result was.  You guessed it: the rar help doc.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me?  I can't do anything
without using rar :(

Well, unrar works for me, along with rar, now that I updated.  Sorry for
rambling on and on about how it didn't work.  Thanks, anyway.

1. Re. bffcreate -X doesn't work Re: bffcreate -X Doesn't Work

bffcreate first restores all images from the tape to /tmp (default)
and than does a 'restore -p' to pack them in big files and place these
files in /usr/sys/inst.images. It's much more easier to use 'dd' to
copy the files directly from the tape to disk. The only thing you have
to take care about it the naming. If all images are copied run 'inutoc'
on the directory were you placed your files this will create the
table of contents files '.toc'.
