Panasonic CR-562 CD-ROM

Panasonic CR-562 CD-ROM

Post by Ashraf Micha » Fri, 30 Dec 1994 01:32:21

I have a Panasonic CR-562 CD-ROM drive, and I can't get linux to detect it.
This CD-ROM drive was in the compatible hardware list, so I was wondering
what I could do to fix the problem.

My current setup is:

ID:   0
IRQ:  5
ADDR: 0x310

Boot Disk: SBPCD
Root Disk: UMSDOS

Distribution: Slackware professional 2.1 (from Linux Quarterly CDROM
              -- Fall 1994 Edition).

Can I type a special command at the boot: prompt to mount the
cdrom??  Is my port address a non-standard one??

Any help would be appreciated.

1. Panasonic CR-562 CD-ROM drive & Slackware 2.0 from Morse Tele.

I'm posting this for a friend who doesn't have Internet
access ... He wants to buy the Panasonic CR-562 CD-ROM drive
and wonders if the Slackware Professional 2.0 CD-ROM from
Morse Telecommunication can be run directly from that drive
without any trouble ...

Any advice will be very much appreciated.  Thankyou.
