SCSI Trantor T130b & TMC850MEX don't work

I have both of these cards, I have tried both with kernel 1.1.33 and
neither is willing to respond.  I have configure bothe seagate.c and
G_NCR5380 and neither one gives any wakeup message that I can see.

The only message logged by dmesg is "scsi: 0 hosts".  Isn't this from the
high-level SCSI code?  Should the low-level driver say anything?  All I
want to do is read a Toshiba T3401 CDROM drive.  These are bothe stupid
8-bit cards, but for a CDROM, I can't see spending real money.

I have tried passing parms from LILO e.g.
LILO boot: test NCR5380=350,5
for the T130b, (using the LILO image labelled "test") but to no avail.

If anyone has gotten either of these two cards to work, could you provide
jumper settings, kernel/driver versions, configs, etc that worked for you?
