Netscape can't see News Server (Win98)

Post by Loren Co » Fri, 19 Apr 2002 06:06:17

i am trying to use Netscape to replace
IE5, and have been successfull wrt
browsing.  but i cannot read news.

IEoutlook finds the news server fine.
Netscape fails the same when running
shell=command.com (no explorer running).

i have set the server using the hard
ip addrs, too.  no difference.  i can
ping the server from a dos box.

do i have to somehow do additional
configuration for Netscape.  what?
where?

thanks!

...snipped

I'd like to help, but I don't use (or rarely use) Win 4.1.
I connect fine win WfW 3.11 and Netscape 4.08 through the
TCP/IP software I downloaded from M$, which I think may be
included in newer Windows versions.

Perhaps someone in a Netscape group will know?
