There is not much HOWTO to study:
Go into /etc/rc.d/rc.inet2 and enable rpc.portmap, rpc.nsfd and rpc.mountd.
read "man exports" and edit /etc/exports (avoid tabs there).
"/ *.*.*(ro) *.*.*.*(ro)"
would allow every other host to mount all of your directories read-only.
