Xine Help

Post by snoopi » Mon, 24 Sep 2001 12:07:08

Hey guys.  Whenever I try to run the Xine media player (Xine-lib and
Xine-UI are both version 0.9.1), the program outputs:

Found xine library version: 0.9.1 (0.9.1). Display is not using Xinerama.
created ph2 mask pixmap 2200011 (520 x 100) main: all available video
drivers failed.

When I run xine --help, it says 'Select video driver by id.  Available
drivers: ' and nothing follows the 'Available drivers:'.  So apparantly,
xine is finding any drivers at all.  I was wondering if someone could tell
me what I might be able to do in order to get Xine working correctly.
Thanks in advance!

I installed an RPM of the Xine-UI 0.9.1 and it works fine now.  Thanks to
anyone who may have given my problem any thought.

1. Xine help!

I'm trying to compiie xine to to play some Divx files I've got.

The xine-libs go ok with ./configure && make && make install no bother, but
xine-ui just won't compile for me.

Here's the error:

<snipped>

checking for XINE-LIB version >= 0.9.4... ./configure: /usr/local/bin:
cannot execute

Now, I've set, unset, reset my LD_LIBRARY_PATH till I'm sick of it. Looks
like configure is trying to execute /usr/local/bin (ie the directory)
rather than /usr/local/bin/xine-config. Am I right?

I'm getting a similar error with a gcombust compile, saying it can't find
gtk-config, similar error to above.

I'm running Solaris 9, but I get the same on my U30 running Solaris 8.

This is very important as I want to watch Rear Window!
