Very Computer

When trying to run:
mount -n -t somemach:/dir /mnt

on my Linux box I get:
mount clntudp_create: RPC: Program not registered.

Whn I try to run rpc.nfsd, Iget:
Cannot register service:  RPC:  unable to receive;  errno=connection
refused.

What is not running that should be running? How does one register a
erice with RPC.  I am running the kernel version 1.54 and trying to
connect to a Sun Sparc running Solaris 2.3.

Check that rpc.portmap, rpc.mountd and rpc.nfsd are running.

Can you mound a directory from your linux box onto itself?
