Diamond Stealth 32 w32 problems -please help

Post by Ask » Fri, 03 Feb 1995 05:06:08

I know this has probably been overly discussed, but I'm new on the scene.
I've read a whole bunch of howto's, etc, and I've managed to get XFREE 3.1
loaded with my diamond using freq in 640x480, but the display is messed a little.

What I mean is, I get a few black pixels, and sometimes when I drag something,
the screen doesn't refresh properly, leaving a streak or some other remnant.

I was wondering if some of you kind old fellows could give me a hand with a few things
so I can configure the sucker right. I'm new to all this scan stuff. Some information:

Monitor

Bandwidth: 45mhz
Horizontal:  30-38khz
Vertical: 50-90khz

Chipset w32/et4000

I'm unsure of the proper dot clock I'm supposed to use, and the other information where the modes
are listed with vert/hor stuff. If you could recommend a XF86Config, I'd be most happy :)

I run my monitor at the following in windows (if this helps):

others in this situation.

I have the same card. I grew tired of trying to get support for it under
Xfree, so I bought a third party Xserver (Accel-X) from xinside inc. that
supports the diamond stealth32 VLB natively. You can send email to

more info.

I have no interests with xinside aside from being a happy customer
and a registered beta test site for their Accel-X product.

Hope this helps.

1. Diamond Stealth 32 (Tseng ET4000 W32) and Linux

Can someone send me information on how they got their X Window System
to work with the Diamond Stealth 32 (Tseng ET4000 W32).  I realize the
people at Diamond do not want to release the clocking information without
a
signed nondisclosure agreement, but I received the card as a gift and I
can't
afford another.  I am running the Fall 94 release of Linux with the X11R6
Xfree86 3.0 version of X.  I am very new to linux so I would greatly
appreciate
all the help I can get.  Also I am using an Ambra 17" FST Monitor, and a
486DX33 system.

                                   Thanks
