SuSE7.2 install of Gimp 1.2.0-1 - failed dependencies

Post by Jim » Thu, 01 Nov 2001 01:36:17

Hi

I have tried installing the gimp rpm on SuSE 7.2 thusly:

rpm -i gimp-1.2.0-1.i386.rpm
error: failed dependencies:
         libgtkxmhtml.so.1 is needed by gimp-1.2.0-1

Anyone know how to overcomes this problem? i.e. where can I find this
'libgtkxmhtml.so.1'?

Any help much appreciated.

Jim

prolly part of GNOME, or at least part of GtK. Try installing libgtk
(prolly in the GNOME packages, but wouldn't know anything about that ;),
Possibly it's in the development pacakges).

The rpm you need is gxmhtml.rpm, from the group X11/gnome/base (or
download from the SuSE website).

It's in the package 'gxmhtml' (group: X11/GNOME/Base).

I saw this in earlier kernels but wonder if anyone has a clue.

I am hoping it is not a hardware issue.
I see this also on a 2.2.17 kernel.
The 2.2.18 is monolithic and the 2.2.17 is modular for scsi.
This is a SEAGATE LVD 18gig drive.
