Repartioning and re-installing - help

What's a straight forward way to reinstall linux after
repartitioning?  I don't have a zillion disks with a
complete distribution.  I ftp'd stuff gradually, because
I have a very slow network link, and very little unix
disk space (but tons of space on another pc that I could
ftp from once I get networking up and running.

I still have the two installation/ram-root disks.

Should I recreate or re-ftp installation disk sets?
If so, how can they be recreated easily?  (ie, slackware)
How can I create custom disk sets with just the stuff I
need on them?

Is it possible to install via nfs if I have everything
not in a disk format.  How about if it's in a dump format?
(assuming I can get nfs on the other pc)

If I can beg/borrow/steal a tape drive, can I use that with
the installation disks?

Why don't you have a floppy original of those slackware?

1. Re-installing Linux - HELP

I ahve been running Linux for quite a while under umsdos. I have decided
to erase it and create a native partition to install it on. I plan to
install it on my second hard drive and to use fips to partition it.
When I start fips and it asks me which HD, I tell it 2(0x81h) and it
warns me that that drive is 80h and not 81h but seems to proceed. I have
not yet carried it to completion.

      1. Will FIPS work to repartition a 2nd hard drive?
      2. DO I use Linux fdisk to create a swap partition from the native
         Linux partition?
      3. What are the steps for installation after I have created the
proper root and boot disks? ( I am using Slackware 2.1 CDROM)

I plan to create a 200 mb parition.
I plan to fully install Linux/Xwindows to run from HD and not CD.
Will I see a significant improvement in performance running Linux
 on a native partition?
