Unable to handle kernel paging request SLS 1.03 ftape-diff

Post by Uwe Huebner - EDS-C » Sat, 13 Nov 1993 21:13:19

I am working with SLS 1.03pl12 .version = 19
0.99.12 #1.

My shared library is libc.so.4.4.2.

It's a 80386-33 no coprocessor with two IDE disks (linux on the second (D:)).

I applied modules-pl12.diff (want to install ftape for my Jumbo 250).

So here is what happens after removing undefined symbols out of
`ksyms.lst' and so on, during boot with the new `make zdisk' boot disk
(by the way I tried several configurations, make config, make dep):

scsi: 0 hosts
scsi: detected 0 SCSI disks 0 tapes 0 CD-ROM drives total

BTW: Is the dynamic loading of modules to be plant as a feature
that has not to be patched into the sources???

1. SLS 1.02: "unable to handle kernel paging request"

Hi,

I am installing SLS 1.02 (as is) on my 486DX2/66. I have an Ultrastor
14F.

Whenever the system is slightly busy it locks up with:
Unable to hadle kernel paging request at address c000000e
Ooops: 0000
EIP:   0008:00010202
fs: 0017
base: 00000000, limit: C0000000
Pid: 871, process nr: 15
66 83 7e 0e 00 75 46 8b 4b 10

Then it repeats 3 more times. and the system is dead.

I am installing into an ext2 fs.

If I install slowly (don't laugh!) I can almost get into the X series...

The system is pl8 as is now on tsx-11.

I still have the old 0.97 on another disk and it seems to work OK.
