I am considering the ATI Mach 64 PCI card .  Will this run X in Linux?

Could someone please send/post Xconfig for this card?

Thanks a lot for your time

The mach64 works fine under Linux, but you need the 3.1.1 version of XFree86
(Slackware comes with 3.1 which does not have mach64 support).  If you have
3.1, you don't really need a full upgrade to 3.1.1, you just need to get
the mach64 server from the 3.1.1 distribution, but I went ahead and got
the whole 3.1.1 version.

I can e-mail you my config file if you'd like, but make sure your Monitor
can support the same refresh rates before you try it.

I have the ATI WinTurbo MACH64 2mb... it run very fast... no problems.
You (and me) need to know you monitor specs to build a XFCONFIG file.

                                   have luck

1. Atlantis MB with ATI Mach 64 problem

I have the Intel Atlantis Motherboard and have got a problem starting
X.

I downloaded all the necessary 3.1.2D files and installed.
Created a new XF86Config and started up x (startx). Everything
displays ok apart from horizontal lines across the screen when
the display is being updated.

Has anyone seen this before?

If so, is there a work around?

Nick
