I cannot get Grub to boot with RH 7.2. I've spent most of today looking
for the answer - and found the question only many times over.
I have a three-way software mirror of 20GB drives (paranoid!) on an Asus
A7M266, and one Promise Ultra 100 TX2. (one drive on MB, two on promise)
On bootup the machine halts on "GRUB "
I can happily boot of floppy.
I have tried to re-init Grub, but when I do it tells me "/dev/md0 drive is
not a BIOS drive" (md0 is my mirror device of course)
Here is a dump of fdisk -l if it helps:
Disk /dev/hdc: 16 heads, 63 sectors, 39870 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 1008 * 512 bytes
Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/hdc1 1 294 148144+ 82 Linux swap
/dev/hdc3 295 39870 19946304 5 Extended
/dev/hdc5 * 295 39870 19946272+ fd Linux raid autodetect
Each drive is identical (except drives are hde and hdg respectively)
Thanks,
Mathew
