Very Computer

1. Thanks to the person on the network who suggesting
   using XMosaic+term from tsx-11.mit.edu instead of
   Mosaic+term from sunsite.  XMosaic+term seems to
   find connections etc.....

2.  However, I still have a couple of questions.
    When I open a URL I have to give the actual
    IP numbers of the address.  Simply giving
    a fully qualified hostname does not work.

        eg: http://merlin.resmel.bhp.com.au  DOES NOT WORK
            http://134.18.1.6                DOES WORK !!!

    This makes the hypertext links useless to me.

        DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY CLUES ABOUT HOW TO FIX THIS?

     Also, I have placed XKeysymDB in /usr/lib/X11 but I
     still get heaps of errors.  What do I need to do here?

Easy ! You have to use the DNS services of a nameserver near you.
Find out what server can be used as your primary nameserver (mostly the
system you're connecting to offers at least a cache ony one).

Enter this entry into the /etc/host.conf

order host bind
multi on

And into /etc/resolv.conf the IP of the system offering DNS services

nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
