writing to the CD recorder

Hello
Has anyone successfully written to a Phillips CDD-521 recorder?
Does anyone know how to do this?  I have mkisofs and cdwrite, but I know
I'm missing another piece...Perhaps the device?

Thanks for any help in advance!

William
