Seyon doesn't like 16550A?

Hi all,

I have discovered a weird thing: if I connect my modem (external US Robotics
Sportster 14400) to a serial port with 16550A in the card, and then connect
to a remote computer, I get a lot of garbage characters back. What I transmit
seems to be OK. Same setup but off a 16450 port works OK.

I tried to switch hardware flow control ON or OFF but it doesn't seem to make
any difference.

Logicaly the only difference 16550A should make is more than one byte may be
ready at once. How does it break seyon?

I use the same modem and the same program with NS16550AFN UART with no
problem.  Does your kernel identify your 16550A UART correctly during
the boot up?  Does your UART work correctly on DOS?

Seyon works darn nicely with my 16550A. It's a lovely program. My
modem is an internal L144 (from now defunct Lightning Comm.), with onboard
16550A.
