Midnight Commander not working for some user

I have been using Mandrake Linux 8.0.

Midnight Commander works fine for some users and not for others.  Is
there any configuration/preferences for users?

If a user changes the configuration of mc and then saves that configuration,
they will have a new subdirectory called .mc in their home directory.

When you say "works fine for some users and not for others" do you mean it's
not working fine for others, or it's not working at all for others?

Midnight Commander not working for some user

Dear Garry Knight,

Thanks a lot, it now works ok.

1. gnu midnight commander bash subshell not working (aix 4.2.1)

Hi,

mc 4.1.36, bash 2.01/2.02, AIX 4.2.1, TERM=dtterm (also tried linux).
GCC 2.8.1.

when running mc it writes a warning:

subshell.c: couldn't get terminal settings: A specified file does not
support the ioctl system call.

pressing ^O (to enter a subshell on a virtual terminal) does not work
(i.e. no subshell)

what might it be/how to solve this?

thanks
