NEED HELP on modem

NEED HELP on modem

Hi,
I am trying to dial out with
        cu - /dev/ttyS0 -s 2400
(my modem is on DOS com1: port. I have no problem dial out under DOS)
under Linux I got:

cu: open (/dev/ttyS0): Permission denied
cu: /dev/ttyS0: LIne in use

I have commented the line out in inittab.

HELP please.
