1. Problems with new Soundblaster PCI 128 (based on CT5880 chip)

I just bought a new Soundblaster PCI 128 card (model CT4750, based on the
CT5880 chip).  It is supposed to work with the ES1371 driver, but fails with
some message about a DMA timeout.  This is consistent with other reports that
Creative changed their PCI 128 card somehow.

Does anyone know how to get this to work (eg., patching the es1371 driver?).
I'm running Redhat 6.0 (kernel 2.2.5-15).

Thanks,
    richard.

BTW, I noticed that the new (2.3.28) kernels have provisions for this chip in
the es1371 driver, but this code doesn't compile on my current kernel.
