1. compiling nntpd with slcakware problem

I have been trying to compile nntpd in slackware 1.1.1 but
with a lot of problem with the header files. The linker
tried to link variables for a symbol linke _IO_stderr,
_IO_stdout and _IO_stdin but they were defined as extern
in libio.h and I could not find them anywhere.
These were defined for stderr, stdin and stdout in
stdio.h.
Since they could not be found anywhere, it cause a lot problems
not only to nntpd but to other programs that uses ios.
This problem did not seems to appear in SLS distributions.
Can anyone point me to the right file that includes the definition
so that I can start compiling some programs.
