Is the Matrox Atlas Ultima PCI card compatible with Linux?

I currently have a Diamond Viper and am going to exchange it since it's
not compatible....

I think Matrox has the same policy as Diamond when it comes to drivers for
Linux.  This means that the XFree team cannot write drivers for them.  Sure
they may write there own drivers and hand you trojans, I mean binaries :-),
to shuv into your system.  The fact is if the hardware vendor does not
release hardware programming info, you can expect all the Diamond headaches.

Solution: Get the ATI Graphics Ultra Pro (fast, and open)
          Go Open Systems!!!

Could that be the reason ATI is kickin some Diamond a** now?
