Newbie wiped out partitions on new WD 4GB drive. --a little help please

In trying to put Linux on my new Western Digital WD400bb drive, I
erased all the partitions that WD had on there. Now I can't use the EZ
install software that came with it to make large partitions. I still
want to put both Linux and Win98 on this drive. Does anyone know a way
to put the original configurations and embedded data back on this
drive?  I can't find a thing at the Western Digital site. This must be
a question for the super techies out there.

Unless your system has an older BIOS, you don't need to have the EZ install
software in order to create large partitions under W98.  I've put W98 on
machines with BIOSes from as far back as '93, and have never needed to use
the EZ install software to make large partitions on drives.

Dunno, but I can't get it to make a partition larger than about 2.1 GB
now. At first it would create one much larger (with EZ software) But
my bios won't support a drive over 8.4 GB. It's my understanding that
this is normal for the older bioses. Mine's about 1996. It is an old
Pentium 133, AMI bios.

Do you have the EZ install software available? on what media?
What is now on the hard drive?
Can you make multiple 2GB Windoze partitions to fill up the drive?
Linux should be able to see the whole drive regardless, since it doesn't
need help from the BIOS to see the drive.  It's only a problem for Windoze!
If you do successfully get the EZBios software running, remember that it
lives in the MBR, so Don't put lilo in the MBR - it will KO your EZBios.  I
boot my similar dinosaur into Linux with a boot floppy.
