I am trying to get smail+mailx send my mail over a
term connection. Local mail works fine. For the term
connection I got the config files from
pub/Linux/apps/comm/term/term/extra/smail.conf.tar.Z
on sunsite.
When I try sending an internet mail, I get the following
error message in the log file:
transport smtp: IP address for localhost not found
I have the following, one line /etc/hosts file:
-------------------------------------------------
127.0.0.1 localhost
-------------------------------------------------
Is there a mail guru out there who can put together a
bare-bones, no frills smail+term package using smtp
port for mail-illiterates like me to use happily.
I think this would be very much appreciated by all the
Term -a truely great software that made me switch over
to Linux from dos- users.
