Hello you.

I have a problem locating the novell server from DOS-emu. Loading pdipx and netx works fine, but I cant find the server. Here is what I get:

C:\>lh pdipx.com
Novell IPX/SPX  v3.10 (911121)
(C) Copyright 1985, 1991 Novell Inc.  All Rights Reserved.

LAN Option: Packet Driver V1.03EC (920928) Intel (c) 1992, No Warrenty
Hardware Configuration: First Packet Driver, Find Interrupt

C:\>lh netx.exe

NetWare Workstation Shell  v3.32 (930217)
(C) Copyright 1993 Novell, Inc.  All Rights Reserved.
Patent Pending.

Running on DOS V5.00

Attached to server FSL
07-25-94    11:22:25 pm

C:\>

Changing the drive to say f: as I would normally do does not work. Why?
In config.sys lastdrive=Z.

thanks

Kim

I've got Linux talking to Novell Lite with no problem using dosemu.
I just run SHARE, then PDIPX followed by LSL.
Normally you'd run the NE2000 or whatever Ethernet trigger pgm you
need but that isn't required to make it work via dosemu.

Haven't had a chance to try it on regular Netware.

I think using netx you should change lastdrive to E
or use VLM.EXE and lastdrive=Z

: Changing the drive to say f: as I would normally do does not work. Why?
: In config.sys lastdrive=Z.

set lastdrive to (say) e: in config.sys.
Then dosemu can use upto e: (for accessing linux partitions) and Novell
can use f: onwards.

: thanks

EWveryone should make sure before they flip out that they have the
PDIPX from Intel's ftp site.  Otherwise they have to use the -n
switch on their packet driver.

If you have ipxpdi.com you should replace it with pdipx from Intel.

1. Novell login via dos emulation

I have been trying to find out if it is possible for me to log on to a
Novell server under a dos session on my SCO Open Desktop Release 3.0.0
box.  It seems the trouble will be with how the drive mappings will work.
Any pointers or help is appreciated.  Thanks.
