Ctrl ALT Del doesnt work right !help

Post by Jarod M. Rodrigu » Tue, 18 Oct 1994 02:59:21

I am running kernel verson 1.1.53 and for the life of
cannot get the machine to reboot by give it the Ctrl ALT Del
command or the rebbot command or the Shutdown command.

It sends the term signal to all processses and unmounts all the
files systems.  It tells me it is done.  and then io just sits
there and does nothing.  So i have to hit the reset switch.
Anybody ever had this problem before and now how to fix it.
I have tried for the pst couple of weeks to locate the problem
I have lloked in inittab and it is defined there.  So what gives?

Thanks in advance for any help given.

Hi Jarod,

It is puzzling, after all, previous behaviors were reboot.
Ctrl-Alt-Del a *2nd* time.

Better to post responses . Other readers may benefit.

1. Ctrl-Alt-Del doesn't work

Hi net.ppl,
I've got SLS 1.03 with a pl13 kernel. My problem is that ctrl-alt-del
doesn't work (it used to work with pl12). I've got the following line in
my /etc/inittab (which hasn't been changed since pl12):

pf::powerwait:/etc/shutdown -rf now > /dev/console < /dev/console 2>&1

Any ideas?

Thanx,
