top is in slackware, and works great.

I thought that was AIX-specific, since AIX doesn't have top.

Is there a program for linux like 'top' to show the top cpu processes?

I have a program called 'monitor' that I've ported to a number of
unix systems.  I'll help anyone who wants to try porting it to linux.
It looks like everything it needs is in the proc file system.
Is there any documentation to the layout of the data in the proc
file system?  How stable is the layout between kernel updates?
I'll probably get around to porting monitor next month.
