Help!!!  I must be stupid.  I can not mount a DOS floppy.  I thought that
is possible.

I tried using the mount command, but it just doesn't work.  I am using
kernel 1.0.8 I know it is old.

Well, use the following

mount -t msdos /dev/fd0 /mnt

this should mount the first floppy (/dev/fd1 for second floppy) with
filesystem msdos on the /mnt directory.

'mount /dev/fd0 /mnt -t msdos' works I believe..

I must be stupid, too. I can mount a dos floppy, but I don't know any
way to tell linux that I have changed the disks otehr than unmounting
and remounting the floppy.  Is there a better way to do this?

Thanx,
brian smith

If you want to _mount_ the floppy, then the only way to change the disks
is to umount it and mount the other one again. So far, you are right.
But why don't you use the mtools (like mdir, mcopy, mdel, mformat etc.)
for dos-floppys? They allow changing floppys 'on the fly'.
Hope it helpes.

So long,

Henrik
