Anybody have a working copy of spyLinux available ? "spyLinux is
(s)mall (py)thon (Linux). It's a single disk distribution of Linux
which contains some basic utilities, networking, vi, and the python
interpreter ( minus Tkinter )."
The download site for 1.0.15 has a bad download link, and what seems
to be 1.0.16 I can't get to work. A README admonishes people to read
an FAQ which I can't find.
1.0.15 is pointed to by many places as being at:
http://www.cyncore.com/spyLinux.html
and while that page is available the download link to:
http://www.h3o.net/dl/spyLinux-1.0.15.tar.gz
throws an:
+
Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was
unable to complete your request.
inform them of the time the error occurred, and
anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

1.0.16 seems to be available at:
http://bluesine.com/archives/software/spyLinux/
and while the download link:
http://bluesine.com/archives/software/spyLinux/spyLinux-1.0.16.tar.gz
works okay, any time I try to boot after rawrite'ing or dd'ing the
boot image all I get is screens full of:
L 04 04 04 04 04 04...
...and when I pull the floppy the 04 changes to 80, so I guess they're
track numbers. So I guess it can't boot something that is supposed to
be on track 04. From Linux the floppy seems to be in ext2 format and
there are some files but not all I suspect (and the FAQ may be one of
the missing files). I am also confused because the tag line for
spyLinux-1.0.16.tar.gz says it is the "first version. but quite
stable!" just like the 1.0.15 pages read (the '.16 page is an obvious
clone).
This sounds pretty cool, so I thought I'd see if anyone had better
luck that I did -- either recently or in the past.
Thanks,
