Matrox Millenium G200 AGP on Slackware

Does anybody know haw to get the above graphics card
to work on Slackware 3.5.

Have fetched a number of drivers/updates from ftp.xig.com
and tired the instructions under the readme files:

=========================================================
 download D4102.001.tar.gz and place in the directory /usr/X11R6/lib/X11

    unix-prompt> cd /usr/X11R6/lib/X11
    unix-prompt> tar xvzf D4102.001.tar.gz
    unix-prompt> rm AcceleratedX/boards/.Xaccel.cache
    unix-prompt> rm AcceleratedX/monitors/.Xaccel.cache
============================================================

Slackware is basically the default installation from the
CD. I'm using "xf86config"-utility to write the XF86Config-file.
X-windows starts up but the resolution stays constant at 320x200.
Switching resolutions with  "Ctrl+Alt+ +/-" DOES NOT work.
Escape/kill-sequence "Ctrl+Alt+Bckspace" does work.
The mouse dont move.

What gives?

Max!

Are you downloading and updating your system with AcceleratedX updates
and then trying to configure your X server with an XFree86 utility?
AccelX is a commercial product totally separate from XFree86.

  Slackware 3.5 includes XFree86 version 3.3.2 not supporting Matrox
Millennium G200 AGP.  XFree86 3.3.3 does the job. Suggesting to download
it.
