can't login

Post by Rajendra Jadha » Wed, 30 May 2001 09:59:45

Hi,

I had posted a problem I was facing yesterday. Now, that was sorted, I don't
know how, but now new problem has arised. When I try to login, I get a
message saying "searching for internet address for "hostname"....and the
thing is I can't login to the machine even from other pcs. I have a Linux
workstation with Redhat 6.0. Can I have some advice as to what should I do?

Thanks,

Raj.

Give the command 'linux 1' without the quotes at the lilo prompt and then
run linuxconf.  Exit Linuxconf and see if it asks you to activate changes,
if it does say yes and then reboot and try again.  If that doesn't work
then ask again and someone more knowledgeable might be able to help.
