Orchid Kelvin 64 / Cirrus Logic 5434?

Orchid Kelvin 64 / Cirrus Logic 5434?

Post by Geoff Rimme » Mon, 12 Jun 1995 04:00:00

I have been informed that the Orchid Kelvin 64 (2MB, PCI) graphics
card contains or is compatible with the Cirrus Logic 5434.
Is this true?  And if so, can I go out and buy the above Orchid card
with complete certainty that XFree86 3.1 (which I have read supports
the 5434 in accelerated mode) will work fine with it?

Many thanks in advance.
Geoff

I use an Orchid Kelvin 64 VLB / 2 Mo and a friend of mine uses the same
video card on a PCI bus. The chipset of these cards *is* a CLGD5434 and
they work fine with XFree86 3.1.1. This switches you can use in your
XF86Config are well documented in the server package.

Hope it helps.
