You are only able to edit the global KPanel menu as root. Each user
then has a Personal menu that can be edited via KFM's Edit->Applications
menu.

Right.  That's the global menu.  You can edit your own menus just fine which
branch off of K->Personal.  You can put the global menu in Personal and your
menu as the main one by K->Panel->Configure, then Options and check off
"Personal First".

1. KDE: editing mouse menu

This is a newbie question:

Is there a way to edit menu items that are shown when you click on right mouse
button on a empty desktop? I got as far as changing the menu using the Control
Center->Desktop. It gives options for right mouse buttong, one says 'custom menu
1'. Now where is this custom menu 1 stored? How can I edit it?

thanks
