Graphics Viewer

Post by John Slate » Sat, 05 Aug 2000 04:00:00

I'm still at the Newbie stage with Linux and I'm looking for a
Graphics viewer program along the lines of ACDSee.
ie. A browser that will allow you to scroll through your directory and
view the file as you go with out having to go File - Open - OK.
 Thanks in advance

Hi John,
try CompuPic. It comes with SuSE-Linux.
Or get hold at http://www.photodex.com/products/compupic/unix/

it's not freeware or GPL but after the eval-period it just nags
with a text in gif images. It's ok.

Not as good as ACDSee but it does all u want.

cgview does pretty much what you asked for. It comes with RedHat and
Mandrake at least.

Try the QVV prog. I don't remeber where  got it but check the qt home page
(www.troll.nu i think). They are telling you which programs were written
with QT and one of them is QVV

1. CL Graphics Viewer for FreeBSD?

At least looking through the short descriptions in the Ports Collection,
I don't notice any graphics viewers that do not require X11 to run.
Are there any analogues to CompuShow that can be launched from a shell
prompt and return you there, but will permit you to view popular format
graphic files??
